The Harris Foundation

History
Vernon V. Harris came from Kentucky to Oklahoma Territory where he began to fulfill his vision that all Americans should be responsible public citizens. In 1938 he founded the Harris Foundation, a philanthropic foundation that provides grants to religious, charitable, educational, benevolent or scientific institutions and organizations. The imprint of VV Harris still can be seen throughout Oklahoma and today his legacy is continued by members of his family who serve on Foundation's board.
